Ziepniekkalns in southern Riga combines 1980s–90s series housing with rapidly growing new development — nearly half the supply here is new projects. The neighbourhood is green and family-friendly: schools, kindergartens, shops and bus routes to the centre. Prices remain moderate compared to the centre and the more prestigious parts of the left bank. Note that public transport is slower than in districts served by tram.
